Fly fishing on the McKenzie river report: The McKenzie River is high and flowing fast.  And the native rainbow trout are already are starting to bite. A guest at Eagle Rock Lodge caught two Rainbows on February 11, both around 16 inches long.  Nice to know the native fish have had a good winter and are eagerly awaiting anglers.  Fishing this stretch of the McKenzie is fly fishing only and catch and release of all native trout.  This is a private stretch of river frontage and the Innkeepers at Eagle Rock Lodge invite their guests to try your luck right their backyard.
