RR Thompson House

The historic R. R. Thompson House features original mahogany woodwork, fir floors and lighting fixtures.  The colonial revival home was completely refurbished in 2007 and today these features are blended with modern amenities -- private, marble-tile baths with jetted tubs for each suite and room.  

The home was constructed in 1936 by the grandson of one of the most influential and wealthy Oregonian of pioneer days, also known as 'R. R.' It boasts five beautifully appointed suites and rooms, each named after a flower which can be found on the property, among many others!  The spacious Rose and Lavender Suites and the more intimate Magnolia, Lilac and Garden Rooms all have deluxe, pillow top king or queen mattresses and crisp, luxury linens.  
  
A bountiful, gourmet breakfast starts your day. Enjoy our delicious Brie cheese omelet, generous cheese plate and home baked treats.  After breakfast you are invited to step outside to enjoy the beautiful gardens, or simply relax in the sunshine on the deck or lawn.   Or you may choose to relax, read a book, or play a game in the comfy living room, with its overstuffed sofa and chairs.  

Air conditioning and wireless internet are included.  Satellite HDTV is available in the suites or may be viewed in the spacious living room.
    
The inn is within easy walking distance to nearly 20 wine tasting rooms, and numerous world-class wineries flourish in the valley.  

The inn's location in the picturesque Willamette Valley and its relative closeness to Portland (40 miles) and the Coast (less than 60 miles) make the Thompson House the ideal location for your Pacific Northwest vacation.  We are also just eight miles from the city of McMinnville, where live theater, restaurants, shopping and the Evergreen Aviation and Space Museum (home of the Spruce Goose) offer hours of enjoyment.
