The Oregon Bed and Breakfast Guild is a membership organization with credibility and prestige that comes from maintaining high standards and professionalism. Our cooperative advertising provides strength in numbers through the Guild’s website, a Print Brochure, our toll-free information phone line, and lodging gift vouchers.
OBBG has two levels of membership: Associate and Regular. Associate members are those individuals that have an interest in becoming a regular member or maintaining ties to the innkeeping community and includes Aspiring Innkeepers. They are not eligible for full membership or voting privileges, but they have an interest in the aims and objectives of the Guild and may attend all meetings and conferences and shall receive official Guild communications. Currently the dues for an Associate member are $95.00 a year.
Regular membership is held in the name of the inn, which must be located in Oregon. Prospective members are sent an introduction packet and application form. Costs include a one-time $100.00 application and inspection fee and a one-time $100 marketing fee. Annual dues are $175.00 plus $35.00 per room up to seven rooms. Although we allow membership of inns exceeding seven rooms there are no additional fees for these rooms. Contact us through the web site (www.obbg.org) or our information line 1-800-944-6196.
Although our membership year begins January 1, our first print directory goes to press at that time, the Oregon B&B Guild prorates dues membership for those inns joining the Guild after January 1. Dues will be prorated into 12 monthly segments and based upon the month in which one's inspection is performed. For example, an inn inspected in May would pay dues equal to 8/12 times the annual dues for an inn of that size; an inn inspected in June would pay 7/12 times the annual dues, etc. Inns joining mid year will be added to the website immediately and to the print data base to be included in any subsequent print media.
