Prospect (Crater Lake Area) Blue Grass Festival

Event Details:
The 13th annual Festival, hosted by the Prospect Lion’s Club, will be more fun than ever with some of the best bluegrass bands in Oregon, an old-fashion barn dance and wonderful park’n lot pick’n. Festival headliners include “True North” from Salem, Oregon, “Green Mountain Bluegrass Band” from Eugene, “Siskiyou Summit” from the Rogue Valley, “The Mighty Lonesomes” from Ashland, Oregon and local favorites, the “Goldman Family Band” from Eagle Point, Oregon along with the “Rogue Valley’s Old-Time Fiddlers” and more. Also, returning to the festival will be Leon Flick, the entertaining and award-winning Cowboy Poet with his humorous take on life.

Prospect (Crater Lake Area) FLY-IN

Event Details:
The Prospect Search and Rescue Unit of Jackson County is holding its 18th annual Prospect Fly-In at the Prospect Airport, Saturday, July 15th and Sunday, July 16th, 2007. There will be our usual open air Steak and Chicken BBQ on Saturday at the airport starting at approximately 1730 hours (5:30 p.m.). This year we are planning on serving Egg, Ham and Hash Browns and Pancake Breakfast right at the airport on Sunday morning. All of this for $20 per person donation ($10 for children 6 to 12). If unable to join us for dinner on Saturday, come and join us for Breakfast on Sunday morning which will be from 0600 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. for only $6.00 per person.

Prospect (Crater Lake Area) Timber Carnival

Event Details:
You have seen it on TV now see it live in Prospect. Log Rolling contests, Buck and chain saw competitions (mens, womens, and Jack & Jill divisions), and the all popular axe throwing. See them split a Beer can in two from 20 feet with a double-headed axe. Check out the spectacular craftsmanship available from local artists at the Hillbilly Jamboree. 56th annual event the third weekend of August. Start your Saturday with a Lumberjack breakfast, then watch the lawnmower race while the parade sets up for a trip through the center of town. Stay at the Prospect Historic Hotel B&B or in family friendly motel, and have a fantastic dinner with Prime Rib being the signature dish.
