It’s that time of year again. A time when the Farmer’s Markets in Oregon open and the Oregon Bounty begins to flows. Soon the fresh organic strawberries will fill the stands and it will continue to get better as we move into summer
What do you see in the photo above? If you answered apples, mushrooms, potatoes, bread and greens, you would be right. As innkeepers we see a savory Italian Fritatta with Argula and mushrooms, herbed roasted potatoes, a rich and flavorful banana French Toast and famous Baked Apples at the Old Parkdale Inn.
In May, as Oregon’s Bounty starts flowing the Farmer’s markets across Oregon re-open. The Victorian on 10th is walking distance to the McMinnville’s market. Most markets have live music, handcrafted goods and much of the fruits and veggies sold make their way into the afternoon treats and breakfasts of the Oregon Bed and Breakfast Guild Inns. This is exceptional Oregon Slow Food.
Some of the innkeepers of the Oregon Bed and Breakfast Guild belong to their local CSA and they also, along with most of our innkeepers, visit the farmers markets regularly, selecting the perfect ingredient to create a true Northwest Culinary experience for our guests. Many have gardens producing fresh herbs, veggies, and more.
It’s Spring and it’s time for our Oregon Farmers Markets to sprout up all over the state and share their stuff! Flowers, cheese, veggies, wine, art, you name it and you can find it. From now till deep into autumn, you can drive to just about any Oregon town, city or region and find a farmers market!
Oregon Bed and Breakfast Guild is ready to share Oregon with you: it’s environment, culture, and heritage. Combine gracious hospitality with ambiance at an inspected and approved Oregon Bed and Breakfast Guild member Inn.
