Old Parkdale Inn
In the Upper Hood River Valley on the north slope of Oregon's tallest peak, Mt. Hood, is the Old Parkdale Inn, a fanciful B&B in the quaint town of Parkdale. Outdoor adventure, farms and wineries and fine dining are nearby. The complete privacy of the inn and the serene gardens are perfect for romantic and restful getaways.
Our grounds have been recognized as a National Wildlife Backyard Habitat by the National Wildlife Federation and we encourage you to settle in to an Adirondak chair by the pond and observe the many species of birds that visit our gardens and feeders year-round. From the front gardens you might just sit and gaze in awe at majestic Mt. Hood.
With three artistically decorated rooms you are sure to find one that feels good to your senses and suits your needs. All rooms have queen beds, private bathes, a mini fridge, a microwave, and a coffee machine with a large selection of teas, coffee, and cocoa. The rooms are also equipped with a wall mounted flat screen TV with satellite reception, DVDs, VCRs, hairdryer, alarm clock, fans, and heaters. DVDs, videos, books, games, and puzzles in our lofty attic are available for your enjoyment. Laundry and ironing facilities are also available.
The Old Parkdale Inn is equipped with FREE HiSpeed Wireless internet in the house and in the garden and a guest computer is available.
Our tranquil Monet Suite, decorated as Claude Monet might have seen the world, has a balcony off the bedroom for a sweeping view of the Inn's back gardens. Painted in soft pastels and decorated with Monet prints, this two room suite has a queen bed and a private bath. Relax on the couch or recliner in the living room while watching a movie or redy a good book.
You'll get the feeling of being perched in a tree house in our fanciful Gauguin Room. Embellished with Paul Gauguin's love of the tropics, complete with a tropical forest mural, the east wall of this room has three large windows where you can embrace the comfort of our old, native, chestnut tree right outside.
From the O'Keefe Suite, also a two room suite, is decorated with the quiet beauty of Georgia O'Keeffe works, enjoy a breathtaking view of Mt. Hood. Being on the south side of the house the radiance of the low sun on a clear winter day and the earthy colors of the southwest create a cozy warmth.
Since the two suites have a seperate living room there is plenty of room should you decide to arrange for an in house massage from a local massage therapist.
Relax in front of the wood stove in our common room, watch a movie on our 50 inch plasma TV or play games or take some time with a good book in our loft. Laundry facilities are available.
Enjoy a hearty Northwest breakfast presenting and savoring Hood River delicacies in our dining room or delivered to your suite for complete privacy. As members of the Hood River Organics Community Supported Agriculture group we have a box of fresh, locally grown organic fruits and vegetable delivered to our door once a week. This produce, along with fresh herbs from our gardens, are used as ingredients in the breakfasts we serve every morning along with locally roasted organic coffee.
