Member Information

Thank you for your interest toward membership in the only Oregon state association of independent inns. Our mission statement states we are the professional association of Oregon’s individually operated inns. Our mission is to assure travelers of consistently high standards in a variety of accommodations and to support members through networking, promotion, advocacy, and education.

Although we have a lengthy checklist for our Quality Assurance, membership requirements for OAII are not tough. We are looking for the guests’ safety and comfort, adequate insurance, and legal standing in all appropriate jurisdictions regarding licensing and taxes. Even though independent inns with one or two rooms are exempt from some of these requirements from the state’s point of view, we ask that all of our member inns meet them. Since some might not be familiar with the requirements, let me assure you that it does not include things like commercial kitchen standards. We are looking for sanitizing cycles on residential dishwashers, thermometers in refrigerators and the like. Innkeepers have even said the inspections were a great learning experience.

Costs include a one-time $100.00 application and inspection fee and a one-time $100 marketing fee. Annual dues are $219.00 plus $40.00 per room up to seven rooms.  Although we allow membership of inns exceeding seven rooms, there are no additional fees for these rooms. Dues are prorated to the month the membership process is complete.

Vendor & Associate Information

Thank you for your interest and your supporting of our Associate members. Associate members are those individuals that have an interest in becoming a regular member or maintaining ties to the innkeeping community and includes Aspiring Innkeepers and Vendors in the hospitality sector. They are not eligible for full membership or voting privileges, but they have an interest in the aims and objectives of the association and may attend all meetings and conferences and shall receive official communications.

Currently the dues for an Associate member are $95.00 a year. If you have an innkeeping product or service or have an interest in maintaining ties to the innkeeping community download our membership application and proceed in joining the Oregon Bed & Breakfast Guild.
