The town of Hood River has become the center for wind surfing in the Northwest, while skiers can choose among three locations: Ski Bowl, Timberline and Mount Hood Meadows.

A visit to WAAAM on a Second Saturday is bound to make you realize just how easy life is these days. People don't even give it a thought, but in 1917, it could have taken a half an hour just to get the oil warm enough to crank the car!

Roy Webster Cross Channel Swim

Hood River Hops Fest

Event Details:
Hood River County Chamber of Commerce hosts a beer lovers dream when fresh-hopped brews from more than two dozen Northwest craft brewers are on tap. The event showcases Hood River County's own microbreweries as well as some of the best of the Northwest brewers. An expanded menu of local culinary food, arts and crafts vendors from the Northwest, a selection of Gorge wines, a robust children's play area, and a day-long lineup of live music guarantees fun for the whole family. Children are welcome throughout the afternoon; in the evening, the venue is open to adults only until closing. Held in a special street pavilion in the heart of downtown Hood River, admission to the grounds is free, and tasting mugs and tasting tokens are sold for a nominal price. The annual event attracts thousands. Proceeds support the programs of the Hood River County Chamber of Commerce.
