Three Cheers to Ciders in the Columbia River Gorge

The Hood River Valley and the Columbia River Gorge are renowned for the quality and variety of apples and pears grown by local orchardists. Gorge cidermakers are crafting some of the best hard cider in the Pacific Northwest.

The Old Parkdale Inn is in the heart of the Hood River Valley and on the famous Fruit Loop, a 35 mile touring loop through orchards, farms, and welcoming communities. From the Inn head out and visit:

Golden Row Cider at Mt. View Orchards: Golden Row cider is made from nothing but apples from Mt. View’s row of 100-year-old apple trees.

Kiyokawa Family Orchards In 2013 new varieties apples were planted including hard cider specific varieties.

Draper Girls Country Farm: Owner Theresa Draper’s vision of producing small-batch, hand-crafted ciders from the fruits grown and harvested on her farm began in 2011.

Gorge White House: In the heart of the ‘Fruit Valley’, compelled to create Hard Ciders with the fruit grown on the farm. A beautiful range of 8 flavors from Dry Apple to flavor bursting Mixed Berry.
