Oregon Wine in Southern Oregon

A visit to a winery in Southern Oregon can involve much more than just tasting wine. You’ll want to explore Crater Lake, the mighty Rogue and Umpqua Rivers along the Rogue Umpqua Scenic Byway, and chase a waterfall or two, visiting the wineries of Southern Oregon along the way.

Umpqua Valley is the cradle of modern Oregon fine wine. The “100 Valleys of Umpqua” are filled with lush rolling vineyards, over 30 wineries growing 50+ varieties and a cast of diverse winemakers all exploring and crafting some of the finest wines in the Pacific Northwest. Come and taste Umpqua Valley Wines

While the Applegate Valley AVA is a well-established wine appellation, the region adds up to more than vineyards and tasting rooms. In fact, a simple drive through the region is a joy in itself. Travel the Applegate Wine Trail on highways graced with historic hand-hewn barns, granddaddy oaks, roadside wildflowers and glimpses of the Applegate River.

Nestled within the Rogue Valley AVA—part of the broader Southern Oregon AVA—the Applegate Valley AVA is home to the Applegate Valley Vintners Association, a collective of 18 distinct wineries. Together, they craft an impressive range of high-quality, hand-crafted wines, helping establish the region as one of the most compelling and dynamic wine destinations in the West.

Since 1989, the Oregon Bed and Breakfast Guild has served as a statewide information network for its member properties, providing a unified voice for the industry with state regulatory and tourism agencies.

Now known as The Oregon Association of Independent Inns, we’re the same trusted organization, with a new name, a fresh look, and an expanded focus on independent lodging properties beyond traditional bed and breakfasts. Member properties represent a wide range of accommodations, from small guest cottages, cabins, and intimate two-room B&Bs to larger country inns, boutique hotels and dude ranches.

Oregon Association of Independent Inns are ready to share Oregon with you: it’s environment, culture, and heritage. Combine gracious hospitality with ambiance at an inspected and approved member of the Oregon Association of Independent Inns.
