Betcha didn’t know that was a thing but it sure is here in Oregon. February is Oregon Craft Beer Month. I know we’re a little late to the party but nothing says you shouldn’t celebrate Oregon Beer year round, right?
Immigrants began to move into Oregon Territory in the 1840’s. German brewer Henry Saxer arrived in 1852, tasted the clear, soft water and recognized the prime hop and grain potential. He, along with fellow immigrant Henry Weinhard, began brewing and the rest is history.

- In 2018 Oregon had over 228 brewing companies operating 281 craft breweries.
- Oregon harvested 7,395 acres of hops 2021
- 15% of the U.S. hop production is grown in Oregon
- 40% of world Hop production is grown in the US
